摘要
ITU-T recommendation G.803 was originally developed to describe the functional and structural architectures of SDH transport networks. Many of the principles can be applied to transport networks in general including ATM and PDH. The existing model is extended to include wavelength division multiplexed optical networks and its application to passive optical networks, optical crossconnects and optical protection switching is described.
