DARK AND BRIGHT SOLITONS OF EXTRAORDINARY WAVES IN FERROMAGNETIC SYSTEMS

摘要：
It is shown that the slowly varying amplitudes of both high and low frequency extraordinary waves propagating perpendicular to the dc magnetic field in ferromagnetic systems are described by the nonlinear Schrodinger equation. The extraordinary waves are modulationally stable (unstable) and may evolve as dark (bright) solitons as the frequency omega satisfies omega0 < omega < omega(b) or omega > omega1 (0 < omega < omega0 or omega(a) < omega < omega1), where omega(a), omega(b), omega0 and omega1 are given in the text.
