UTERINE ARTERIOVENOUS FISTULA COINCIDENTALLY DETECTED IN A PERIMENAUPOSAL WOMEN: US, COLOR DOPPLER US AND CT FINDINGS

Uterine vascular lesions are rare, but life-threatening vascular pathologies. In pre and postmenauposal women, arteriovenous malformations (AVM) commonly present with vaginal bleeding of unknown origin. Although angiography is the gold standard technique in the diagnosis of uterine AVM, gray scale US and color Doppler US (CDUS) should be the first choice modalities. In addition, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging may also be performed. We reviewed the US, CDUS and CT findings of a coincidentally detected AV fistula in a patient with amenorrhea and with a prediagnosis of right ovarian cyst.
