摘要
Introduction: A balanced diet can provide adequate nutrients for physical activity practitioners. The man has looked for ways to enhance sports performance, and with it, has used nutritional ergogenic resources as an alternative. Objective: To ascertain the consumption of dietary supplements in a gym in the city of Brasilia-DF. Methodology: The research is characterized as descriptive. We used a validated questionnaire about use of dietary supplements. The study population comprised individuals who practice physical activity and were enrolled in an academy of Brasilia. Results: The sample consisted of 49 individuals between 18 and 50 years, 35 males and 14 females. It was observed that the number of users of supplements is higher among men than among 62.8% women 28.5%. In relation to the referral source the majority of respondents claimed to have been guided by a trained professional. It found a high intake of protein supplements. Conclusion: Currently, individuals are concerned more with health and are seeking guidance from trained professionals to indicate the use of dietary supplements.
