Traits of individual plant organs were analyzed by observational and morphological method with the aim to enlighten the occurrence of the hybrids of species Lonicera xylosteum L. and Lonicera nigra L. in natural populations of Slovakia. The obtained results showed variability at the species level. Precombination of dominant differentiative traits like color medulae, laminae folii, filamentum and color baccae was not confirmed. Occurrence of hybrid in the territory of Slovakia is therefore questionable. More pronounced variability was proved in the species of L. xylosteum in the form and dimensions of laminae folli, in bracts, in the length of the stalk and peduncle and in the color baccae. Less intense manifestation was observed in the species of L. nigra in the leaves and in the length of peduncle.
