AN INTRODUCTION TO SCIENCE AND GENDER STUDIES

Feminists Studies of Science include a wide and heterogeneous scope of different approaches to the study of the relations between gender and science. Scholars from different disciplines such as History, Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology or Science and Technology Studies, at the same time from diverse trends within feminism, have worked since 1980s in the analysis of scientific research with a gender perspective. In this article we propose a classification of the different approaches within feminists studies of science, and we try to establish the main issues this studies have worked on during the last thirty years.
