Evaluation of healthy eating habits and use of dietary supplements among gym member

摘要
With the increasing demand for dietary supplements and excessive consumption, especially by young people and teenagers who attend the academies, notes the importance of studies addressing this issue, as well as healthy eating through regular physical activity. This study aimed to evaluate the profile and knowledge of people who engage physical in activity four academies from a city in Rio Grande do Sul' northwestern, regarding healthy eating habits and their connection with the use of supplements. Data collection was carried out using a semi-structured questionnaire with open and closed questions. Data were analyzed using Excel software version 2007. From a sample of 40 physical activities practicing, making use of dietary supplements, male sex is predominant, with age ranging from 16 to 30 years, where the weight is presented as the most practiced activity. Relative to knowledge of dietary supplements, 97% reported having knowledge, and greater consumption of the supplement is Creatine (16%). In relation to knowledge about healthy eating 100% reported having enough knowledge, however, identified the opposite lack of knowledge about healthy eating -when asked about the specific consumption of nutrients. Concluded that there is need for multidisciplinary team in gyms so they can better guide the practice physical activity in relation to nutrition and food supplements.
