摘要
Democracy, without doubt, is one of the concepts most used in works related to political theory. There is practically no speech, text or conversation associated to politics that doesn't mention it. Nevertheless, it is pertinent to establish its meaning in the present world, given the constant transformation of the political reality and, with it, the demand to review, modify and even create the concepts that we, as society, use to describe ourselves. Though the bibliography on this matter is vast, it is not our intention here to exhaust all visions and arguments on this aspect, but only those on which the Mexican reformatory elite leaned on to democratize the country.
