The influence of the skin effect on eddy current losses in amorphous material Metglass 2826 has been studied. In the majority of works the problem of eddy current losses has been reduced to the solution of the Laplace equation. In the paper the Helmholtz equation has been solved which enables to take into consideration the skin effect. The model in which the domains are separated by a 180° Bloch wall has been used for calculations. The losses were calculated for the case of the wall moving sinusoidally. The obtained solution contains the whole phenomenon. The results have been compared with experimental data for the same material.
