AN EYE MONITORING-SYSTEM FOR INFANT SUBJECTS

An eye monitoring system for gathering visual scanning data from infant subjects is described. The video camera that records an image of the eye automatically follows horizontal and vertical head movements, so the infant's head need not be held in a fixed location throughout the course of an experiment. The algorithm used for processing the video records correctly interprets the partially occluded pupils that often are found in very young infants.
