REACTIVITY IN REVERSE MICELLES - INFLUENCE OF MICELLE SIZE AND ROLE OF THE CO-SURFACTANT

摘要
Acid-catalyzed hydrolysis for a series of para-substituted benzaldehyde diethylacetals in the presence of reverse micelles prepared from water, heptane and AOT has been studied in changing the reverse micelles structure (size, co-surfactant). Determination of the Hammett-rho-constants permit us to show that the change of the micelles size likewise the co-surfactant added modify the microenvironment of the reaction site. These results display a best stabilization of the transition state.
