PREPARATION AND PROPERTIES OF RARE-EARTH COMPLEXES WITH 2,5-DICHLOROBENZOIC ACID

Rare earth (Y, La-Lu) 2,5-dichlorobenzoates were prepared and their composition and solubilities in water at 293 K were determined. The IR spectra and X-ray diffractograms of the obtained complexes were recorded. The complexes of rare earths were obtained as solids with a 1:3 molar ratio of metal to organic ligand. 2,5-Dichlorobenzoates of Y, Sm-Tb and Ho-Lu were crystalline solids whereas those of La-Pr and Dy were amorphous. The OCO group in the prepared complexea acts aa bidentate chelating.
