摘要
The main purpose of this work is to study the rain attenuation in the transmission media between a satellite and a terrestrial station. The data used for this study were obtained from the transmission station at Chacaito, Caracas. For the calculation of the attenuation coefficients we have used the method recommended by the CCIR in 1990. This model allows us to estimate the value of the attenuation coefficients during cumulate raining periods, and for an arbitrary trajectory. Our results serve to set the importance of rain attenuation for developing new technologies, and designing communication links.
