摘要：

This paper concerns only the emissions of the so-called regulated pollutants: hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx), from petrol-engined cars. It aims to provide something of a feel for the application of catalyst science to this area. This differs in no small way from the world of catalysts in the chemical process industry, which is in many ways more familiar because of its long-established nature. © 1990.
