摘要：

First, the article at hand briefly looks into how Joan Corominas has put diverse 19th century etymological dictionaries to use. Moreover, this work is also provides the reader with a first approach to another 19th century dictionary that is hardly known, that of Matias Calandrelli. After a brief biographical sketch on the life and work of this Argentinian lexicographer of Italian descent, we analyze his dictionary and look into his sources as well as his working method.
