摘要
This paper describes a Michelson interferometer capable of resolving powers over one million in the visible, at the coude focus of the Isaac Newton Telescope. The advantages of the system over conventional techniques are demonstrated, namely high resolving power plus high luminosity, an adjustable instrumental profile and very accurate wavelength calibration. © Royal Astronomical Society.
