Traditionally wrist arthroscopy requires setup using large cumbersome or expensive equipment, that is not always available at all hospitals. We describe a cheap, innovative method to setup patients for wrist arthroscopy using equipment readily available in theatres including a standard upper limb tourniquet, ankle-arthroscopy strap, 3L fluid bag, a Chinese finger trap, a drip stand and a Mayo cover. We believe this technique provides an optimum position for wrist arthroscopy and is low cost, which is especially relevant given the current need for greater accountability in health care resource spending.
