Permanent magnet motor efficiency map calculation and small electric vehicle consumption optimization

摘要
Electric vehicles (EVs) seem to be the hope of the cars for the future thanks to their very high efficiency, relative quietness and, more importantly, their ecofriendliness as they do not emit polluting gases like carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons, etc. There is an increasing demand for EV efficiency in order to curb power consumption, lower the cost of fuel, reduce energy losses, protect the environment; etc. In this context, to estimate the global efficiency of EVs, it becomes crucial to calculate a motor efficiency map in its design stage. In this paper, a small electric vehicle driven by a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is presented. A model based on the PMSM efficiency map was investigated under an advanced vehicle simulator to test the performance of this vehicle and optimize its energy consumption. This model ensures that the requirements for driving distance and acceleration are met.
