摘要
Despite widespread adoption of e-learning systems, the realisation of a system that will deliver personalised learning content, relevant to an individual learner's needs, preferences, and background that is responsive to his/her inputs, experiences as well as new practices, business rules and heuristics has still not been fully realised. This paper examines the literature on e-learning ontologies, examines a framework for personalisation of e-learning, and discusses how personalisation is able to be achieved with the use of ontology. Despite the challenges associated with successful implementation of ontology, the development work to date promises that at least semi-automated personalised e-learning may soon be a reality.
