THE ABILITY OF DATA COLLECTION IN PHYSIOTHERAPY STUDENTS: RETROSPECTIVE STUDY

摘要
Objectives: Physiotherapy students' ability to obtain data from volunteers correctly and without missing was investigated retrospectively. Methods: Fourty one students who has been taking one of the researcher's lectures were asked to find Beck depression scale; to meet at least 3 people and obtain their demographic data, their sport habits and to fill in the Beck depression scale. These student files from 33 students were investigated retrospectively at the end of the semester. Results: Thirty three students gave their reports, 8 of them did not. Students gave 98 individuals' report. Nine students prepared a different form for demographic data. Twenty two students written those data on empty areas on the paper they printed Beck depression scale. Two students did not take any demographic data. All of the students found and used Beck depression scale, 19 of them calculated the results; 14 students did not. Thirty one students who somehow obtained demographic data asked to volunteers their sport habits but the ones who didn't have demographic data did not asked any questions about sport. Only 3 students out of 33 collected data without missing. Conclusion: The failure in collecting data may affect scientific creativity thus, the content and the target of research project lesson should be reviewed for educating researcher physiotherapists and strong academic staff.
