A simulation model for the calculation of sheet profiles during the cold rolling of sheets on a Sendzimir sexto rolling mill is presented. The superposition of the deflection and bending of rolls and mill-housing, caused by work roll force- and back up roll force-distributions, forms the total elastic deformation of the rolling mill. Together with the shape of the preset roll gap, established by work roll crown and back up roll bending, it determines the roll gap under load which is decisive for the sheet profile. A solution of the load distribution between work and back up rolls is found by the criterion of geometrical compatibility in the contact areas of the rolls. The consideration of the interactions between load distributions, elastic behaviour of the rolling mill and plastic deformation of the sheet material is gained by two coupled cycles of iteration.
