Regular observation of a digynic experimental colony of Myrmecina graminicola showed the existence of a dominance order between the two females. The aggressive behaviour of female α towards female β depends on the presence of larvae and workers, but the latter do not take any part in the choice or elimination of the supernumerary queen as has already been observed for other species. © 1968 Masson & Cie.
