THE REDUCTION-MECHANISM OF CD(II) AT A MERCURY-ELECTRODE IN AQUEOUS-SOLUTION USING NEW ELECTROCHEMICAL METHODS

摘要
The electrochemical reaction Cd+2 + 2e = Cd(Hg) has been investigated in water containing sodium nitrate as supporting electrolyte, using cyclic voltammetry with the convolution - deconvolution voltammetry and digital simul-ation method. The diffusion coefficient, the transfer coefficient, the half-wave potential, the homogeneous chemical rate constant and the standard heterogeneous rate constant of the Cd(II)/Cd(Hg) system have been determined. The electrochemical parameters were tested using a digital simulation method and were found to be in a good agreement with the experimental one.
