摘要
A new metastable phase with the formula Cu9Y was detected for the first time in melt spun Cu-12.5 wt% Y (9.264 at.% Y) eutectic alloy whiskers. It was found to have an orthorhombic unit cell with a = 9.6239 angstrom, b = 16.667 angstrom and c = 16.667 angstrom. It is pseudo-hexagonal and pseudo-tetragonal. Tentative atomic arrangement models were proposed.
