摘要
This article, an extract of my Master's thesis in Mesoamerican Studies, treats Huichol shamanism. In this essay I explore the conceptions of body, health, and illness, emphasizing that they are part of a holistic world view in the sense that they include the physical, psychic, religious, and social aspects. First I examine the characteristics of the body and their psychic entities that make up a whole unit; then I explain health and illness from the Huichol perspective. Finally I describe some of the diseases that were narrated to me by different Huichol shamans and how these were treated.
