摘要：

Since academic 1987-88, the University of Hawaii has conducted a posttenure review of its senior faculty at the research campus in Manoa. Over the first five years of the program, seventy-two faculty whose performance was found deficient filed professional development plans, as called for in the post-tenure review procedures. This paper reports a survey and content analysis showing the impact of the evaluation program and insights into the reasons for the success, modification, or failure of specific plans.
