APPLICATION OF THE MONTE-CARLO TECHNIQUE TO THE INVESTIGATION OF ONE-DIMENSIONALLY DISORDERED STRUCTURES

The Monte Carlo computer simulation technique is applied to the investigation of one-dimensionally disordered structures with non-random distribution of stacking faults. The short-range order model is considered in particular. Computations of the diffracted intensity distribution for the FCC structure disordered by deformation stacking faults showed non-equal halfwidth and shift of different reflections. At the same stacking fault content the number of the reflections and their angular positions differ from those attributed either to random faulting or to structures with periodic stacking faults. Comparison with the calculations on the basis of some analytical solutions of non-random faulting is made. The problem of stacking fault frequency function changing is discussed.
