摘要
Here the case of a 31-year-old woman who presents with an acute coronary syndrome is described. This imitates an uncommon form of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy. The severe dysfunction is not located in the apical, but in the basal region of the left ventricle. In the absence of emotional or physical stress the further investigation shows an extremely elevated level of catecholamines, which is caused by a pheochromocytoma located in the left kidney. That is why we call it "inverse Takotsubo-like myocardial dysfunction". As is known from the usual Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, the severe dysfunction reverses completely within a few days. © Springer-Verlag 2010.
