Time-resolved measurements of gas-phase xenon luminescence in the first and second continua by,means of synchrotron radiation excitation in the vicinity of the first resonance line of atomic xenon were performed in gas mixtures containing H-2 and D2. The quenching constants of the atomic P-3(1), P-3(2) and of the molecular 1u/0u- (v = 0) states by H-2 and D2 along with the upper limit of 0u+ (v = 0) quenching by H-2 are determined. Strong three-body quenching of Xe2*(1u/0u-)v=0 by two hydrogen molecules was detected for the first time.
