The adoption of new teaching models based on student learning, as required by the European Higher Education Area, has got deep implications in our work as teachers. Frequently, those implications are not sufficiently explained or understood. In this article, we propose 10 metaphors which can be useful to a better explaining and understanding of these implications, with some humour, and a different and refreshing look of the problem, which may help us to put some distance between us and our particular circumstances and prejudices.
