Everyday forms of corruption and ideological discursive strategies are analysed using discourse analysis. The focal group technique was used in order to gather the discourses. A total Of 56 persons participated, divided in 10 groups according to their occupations, ages and socio-economic levels. The paper begins with a description of the present situation of post-modern culture, followed by a reference to the moral characteristics derived from it. Then indications are made to the context as the general framework where corruption is inscribed. Several studies regarding corruption in Venezuela are considered. Then a definition of corruption is constructed on die basis of lexicographic and legal sources, as well as personal interviews. The discourse analysis is described, some discursive strategies are defined and the procedure used to carry out the analysis is explained. Finally, after the analysis is carried out the conclusion is that corruption in everyday life takes very diverse forms according to the particular definitions of the participants and that way they are excused, justified and naturalized through the use of ideological, discursive strategies.
