LAYERING AND WETTING TRANSITIONS IN A MULTILAYER SYSTEM

摘要
The wetting phenomena of thin film growth are studied with the Monte Carlo method in a lattice gas model. Results for the phase diagram are compared with earlier Mean Field, Renormalisation Group and Monte Carlo studies. Considering the thickness and smoothness of the wetting film new insight is found mainly for the layering transitions. Namely, the effect of the substrate is not directly seen in the coverage, but in the mean square deviation of the coverage. It is also found that wetting and prewetting have no profound difference in the case of the lattice gas model. © 1990 IOP Publishing Ltd.
