摘要
Communication: Near-infrared adsorbing dyes have potential applications in optical recording and printing technology which employs inexpensive semiconductor lasers that emit light around 800 nm. A convenient and high yield synthesis of thioflavylium chromophores is presented, materials which are found to act as a powerful acceptor for creating such near-IR absorbing dyes.
