This work has for objective to analyze the politics of environmental education in Brazil, as well as to point out the performance of the importance of the Social Service in the administration of environmental public politics. In the light of these experiences, we analyzed the environmental education theoretically, and we based our arguments, in the need of this to be conceived as a Social Politics. The discussion on the environmental subjects, emerged as central theme of this paper, that approaches, above all for the Social Service, profession that lately (century XX), it is confirming their actions in the uncompromising defense of the democracy, of the justice, of the freedom and of the human rights. Taking as framework this presupposition we presented the environmental education as a new occupational demand for the Social worker, trying to contemplate concerning this professional's intervention in Brazil, in which concerns the environmental education. This article has as last purpose, to give theoretical arguments to move forward in the debate of the category, glimpsing new competences theoretical-practices and ethical-politics regarding the environmental education.
