An Overview on Historiography of the Benedictine Order in the Czech Lands

The Order of Saint Benedict is well known for its activity in the field of historiography. There were also many Order historians who wrote about the history of the Czech lands, or they lived there. I am not aware of other work within the Czech historiography dealing with this issue. However, the article does not analyse works of the historians in depth, but rather briefly outlines the historiography of the Benedictines from the Early Middle Ages to the end of the 20th century. The whole article is divided into two main chapters and several subchapters. The first one pays attention to the context of the Benedictine historiography in Austria, Catholic Germany and France, the second one focuses on the overview on the Order historiography in the Czech lands.
