Incorporation of bacteriological media (Okon's, Jensen's, and Pikovskaya's) and NPI fertilizer solution enhanced the root volume of Pennisetum spp. and formation of spore in VAM inoculum (soil and sand mixture). Increase in root volume and spore number was recorded more with the NPI fertilizer solution, which was equivalent to the effect of Azospirillum inoculation. Differences in spore number between two species of Glomus (G. macrocarpum and G. fasciculatum) was also recorded under influence of NPIF solution.
