Pronounced differences of magneto-optic properties are observed between (100) and (111) multiple quantum wells (MQW) of CdTe//Cd0.6Mn0.4Te on GaAs(100) and sapphire(111) substrates. The (100) MQW's on GaAs(100) well show resolved multiple magneto-optic spectral structures which arise from the transition between the quantum confined energy states. The X-ray diffraction and the reflection high energy electron diffraction (RHEED) also confirmed the best crystalline quality of the (100) MQW. The effective g-value increases with decreasing CdTe well thickness, but its value is too large to be explained by the wavefunction penetration into the Cd0.6Mn0.4Te barrier layers.
