ON THE ORIGIN, ACCELERATION AND COLLIMATION OF BIPOLAR OUTFLOWS AND COSMIC RADIO JETS

摘要
We show in a self-consistent way that it is possible to obtain well-collimated bipolar outflows and radio jets from magnetized protostellar discs and accretion discs in active galactic nuclei. We analytically solve the complete set of Euler-Maxwell equations both inside and outside the disc and appropriately match the solutions on the disc surface. We consider discs with a power-law angular-momentum distribution and assume self-similarity in the radial direction. The solutions are obtained from the mid-plane of the disc until the outflow reaches the Alfven point. We provide specific examples of such solutions.
