The AC susceptibility (chi', chi'') has been measured in a single crystal of the organic superconductor kappa-(ET)(2)Cu(NCS)(2) (T-c=9.5 K) as a function of the DC magnetic field, for several frequencies (10(2) Hz<f<10(4) Hz) and different AC fields (1 mu T<h(ac)<300 mu T) at fixed temperatures. Nonlinear AC response appears above 10 mu T. We have studied this nonlinear regime and obtained the magnetic field and frequency dependence of the critical current density with a critical state model. J(c) shows an exponential decrease as a function of the magnetic field and increases with increasing frequency. This results may be understood in terms of the collective pinning theory.
