摘要：
A video-assisted thoracoscopic technique for enucleation of a leiomyoma of the distal oesophagus, through the left side of the chest in a young man, is described. The advantages of the technique described are its simplicity, the ease of mobilization of the distal oesophagus through a left-sided approach and the minimal post-operative morbidity associated with the procedure.
