摘要：

This article falls within the framework of the author's reflections concerning the latest investigations into the political participation in several municipalities in Spain and Mexico. This is an analysis of one of the five forms of political participations: the protest participation. Concretely, a study is made of the attempt to take over the town hall of Xico by few citizens on April 27, 2006. Likewise, a model of intercultural categories is proposed to analyse the political participation at a local level.
