摘要：

We have examined the external properties of the differential cross-section of elastic hadron scattering. General criteria for the maximum, minimum and saddle points have been obtained. It is found that the extremum given by Arushanov previously as the lower bound for the backward cross-section will become a saddle point at high energies, contrary to his assertion.
