GERMAN NUCLEAR-POWER-PLANTS - 1992 PERFORMANCE DATA

The twenty nuclear generating units in operation in the Federal Republic of Germany in 1992, with a cumulated gross installed capacity of 22,507 MWe, converted 158,840 GWh of nuclear power into electricity; this is 7.6% above the 147,459 GWh of 1991. The average availability in terms of time was 84.82%, while capacity utilization was 80.15%. No accident occurred in the nuclear power plants in the Federal Republic of Germany in 1992 which could have endangered the workforce at the plants or the population in the vicinity. Some performance data of the nuclear generating units are presented as an excerpt from the 1992 Annual Report of the Committee on Operating Experience (ABE Committee) of the German Technical Association of Operators of Large Power Plants (VGB).
