The development of fuel elements for reloading pressurized water reactors in the U.S. market is closely related to that for the European market. New types of fuel elements are developed and manufactured in modern plants for advanced reactor systems, such as the, 80+. The use of new materials improves safety, increases burnup and economy, and extends cycle times. Fuel element services also include inspections for the early detection and repair of defects. Customers are served optimally out of a central service facility.
