Evaluation of Language Policies Implemented in Brazil and the Academic Mobility Programs in Context of Internationalization

摘要
The Brazilian government has intensified its actions in the academic mobility programs, for instance, with the creation of the Science without Borders Program, henceforth SwB. However, the current language policies in Brazil are not taking into consideration what is demanded by the internationalization of universities. In this article, we aim to explain not only the importance of the need to promote the multilingualism in schools, but also of a reflection about these politics. Therefore we come to the conclusion that although there is a political and strategic interest related to foreign language teaching in Brazil, there is also a paradox involving the requests of the academic mobility programs and the language policies implemented in the education networks throughout Brazil, which favor only two languages: English and Spanish.
