摘要
The flanges of T- and I-beams are subjected at their junctions with the web to in-plane and bending forces which can cause the flanges to crack and eventually separate from the web. This separation must be prevented by the provision of reinforcement in the flanges. A method is proposed for the design of this reinforcement based on linear and nonlinear finite element analyses and experimental data.
