摘要
New extended-life oxygen sensors have been developed using fully-stabilized zirconia electrolytes to minimize the electronic conductivity exhibited by the partially-stabilized zirconia sensors. An inexpensive fabrication technique has been used to eliminate the conventional sintering processes and the thermal-shock problems associated with fully-stabilized zirconia electrolytes. The metal/metal oxide reference electrode is completely encased by the isostatically-prossed zirconia electrolyte. Iron and steel melts do not penetrate the porous electrolyte, and reliable results are obtained over time periods as long as ten hours at 1600°C. © 1990.
