摘要
Character and clinical studies of arterial hypertension in 322 elderly and senile patients showed different origins of hypertension in this age group. Three forms were distinguished such as essential, systolic and renal hypertension. The first 2 forms were characterized by a moderate increase in the AP, a benign course often resulting in the development of all coronary heart disease (CHD) manifestations. Crises may occur with a relatively mild arterial pressure leading to angina pectoris, cardiac asthma and disturbances of cerebral circulation. Symptomatic renal hypertension caused by pyelonephritis is marked by a high diastolic pressure and early development of CHD and chronic renal insufficiency.
