IONIC CONDUCTIVITY-ENHANCEMENT OF LICL BY HOMOGENEOUS AND HETEROGENEOUS DOPINGS

摘要
The influence of increasing amounts of MnCl2 on the ionic conductivity of some samples of the system (1-PHI)LiCl-PHIMnCl2 has been investigated for 0 less-than-or-equal-to PHI less-than-or-equal-to 0.33. Two temperature domains have been determined by X-ray diffraction and thermal analysis techniques. At high temperature one observes a LiCl-type solid solution, Li1-2xMnxCl with a sharp increase of the ionic conductivity versus vacancy rate x, mainly for low values of PHI. At low temperature the solid solution decomposes into LiCl and the double chloride Li2MnCl4. The ionic conductivity of some samples of this intimate mixture of two ionic conductors has been measured and interpreted on the basis of the theories on heterogeneous doping.
