摘要：

A brief history of integrated optics is given, and the fundamentals of integrated optics are presented, covering both guided-wave optics and free-space optics. Optical waveguides, passive devices (couplers, beamsplitters, gratings, filters, and lenses), active devices (sources, modulators and switches, photodetectors, and bistable devices), and Fourier optical devices are discussed.
